Happy New Year 1/1/2013

Almost all the Big Temples will be with crowd and People may visit the following 
Ancient Temples and contribute something . This writing is mainly with only intention
of  all temples getting a share from Public.

Kumbakonam Area

1. Arisikaraipudur @ Alagaputhur  near Kumbakonam en route to Thiruvarur 5 kms
    Specialities - Lord Shiva gave himself to Temple Archakar  (400 yrs back)
    Coins daily for doing daily formalities to the dieties.The kurukkal at that time
    felt for his inability to do since he has no funds and decided to break his head
    on the Step. Lord appeared and gave coins enough to do the tings. 
    Lord known as Padikkasunathar or Sornapureeswarar
    The same ancestral kurukkal is now doing duties there. It is a practice to give
    even number of coins to Kurukkal who will refund half the coins and other half
    will go to Temple. This practice is still continued in the morning time. 
    Darshan of this God will solve all financial problems and relieve debts.
    Said to give Mental Peace ( mana nimmathi)
    Sannathi of Murugan with Sangu and Chakra is here at the left entrance. This is
    a special feature of this temple.  

2. Oothukkadu Sri Kalinganarthanar Koil

    12 kms from Kumbakonam en route Thirukarukavoor. We have to take right from
    main road from Avoor about 2 km.  Venkatasubbier has written many Krithis on the
    Krishnan here some 400 years back and these Tamil songs are still enchanting . 
    Vedanarayanan Perumal/Mahalakshmi will bless with Wealth and Health on the new
    year day if visited. Parihaara special stalams for Rohini, Rahu,Kethu Doshams and Sarpa
    Thoshams.
    Lord Krishna , in fact as a child used to dance for the Songs. almost all the songs are for
    dacing jathis also.
    Krishna sat on Venkadakavis lap, while he sang  famous " alaipayuthe kanna "
    In fact all the Krishnan Koils are Puthra Bhagya Sthalams. The Darshan of Uthsavar
    Kalinganarthanar will remove Puthrathoshams and bless

    The same Place has Kailasanathar Temple - a sivan temple with all parivaara devathas.
    can have darshan of  neatly maintained small compact temple and have new year blessings
    
    People can go these places with some chocolates/biscuits or eatbles and give to the people
    of the village which is  below poverty line nowadays.
