Narasimha Jayanthi in Vaikasi (May-June). All Saturdays in the month of Purattasi (September-October) and Vaikunta Ekadasi in Margazhi – December-January.

In the sanctum sanctorum, Lord Shiva graces as a Swayambumurthi along with Lord Vishnu. The shrine is noted for its importance for relief from the afflictions of Sun God. Chakkarathazhwar appears wearing a crown of fire flames in a separate shrine.

The temple is open from 7.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m.

Sri Kadir Narasingaperumal temple, Kothapalli, Reddiarchatram, – 624 622. Dindigul dist.

The Lord graces in the temple under a Padma Vimanam – Lotus shaped ceiling. Veera Anjaneya graces from a shrine in the northern corridor. The idol is sculpted in single stone. Gopinathar temple is at a short distance from here on a hill. On the Janmashtami day (the birthday of Lord Krishna) He visits this main temple.

Devotees offer Lime and Tulsi garlands praying for wedding, removal of evils to children and light lamps with ghee.

Devotees offer Vastras (clothing) and sweet pudding to the Lord as Nivedhana.

Both Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva grace from the same shrine. Lord Vishnu graces with His Consorts Sridevi and Bhoodevi from the sanctum sanctorum with His conch and disc in a standing form. Though He is called Narasingaperumal, He does not have the Lion face. He graces as Shantamurthi – calm face. There is a corridor between the sanctum sanctorum and the outer corridor enabling a special going round of the sanctorum. Only in very ancient temples, such a facility is available. Garuda is in a separate shrine in front of the main shrine. Lord Shiva is just by the side of Lord Vishnu in the sanctum sanctorum. Pujas are performed to Vishnu and Shiva in order. Bhairava belonging to Lord Shiva graces from a separate shrine. Special pujas are performed to Bhairava on the Ashtami day (8th day from the full moon or new moon days) during the new moon days. Remedial place for Sun afflictions: The Lord is also called Kathri Narasinger. The word Kathri denotes the excessive and powerful rays of Sun. Those having adverse Sun aspects pray to the Lord here and also those undergoing the Sun main period pray here for remedies. Mother Kamalavalli graces from a shrine right to the Lord. For improvement and progress in education of the children parents offer cardamom garlands to Lord Lakshmi Hayagriva. Chakkarathalwar graces from a separate shrine with 16 hands wearing a crown of Agni Jwala – fire flames. The deities of Gayathri Mahamantra are sculpted around Him. Above Him is Lord Narasimha killing demon Hiranya and Lakshmi Narasimha below the feet with Garuda worshipping him. Yoga Narasimha is behind Chakkarathalwar holding the disc in his four hands. People pray to Lord before admitting the children in school seeking His blessings.

 Temple History:

Once a king aspired to build a temple for Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu in the same place. But, he was not able to find a suitable place and was confused. Both Lords appeared in his dream and identified this place. Happy king, found a swayambu Linga and constructed the temple here with Perumal. In course of time as Perumal became popular, the temple came to be known as Kadir Narasingaperumal temple.

Miracle Based: Lord Shiva graces as a Swayambumurthi along with Lord Vishnu.
