This is on the Banks of the Cauvery on the Right Side Of the Cauvery Bridge while Coming from Trichy Town.
Just synonymous to Kaattu AzhagiyasungarKovil on ther side of Cauvery at Srirangam, this is known as Aatru azhakiyasingar Kovil.
Saint Thyagaraja has sung this God as " Odathurai Narasimha" in one of his ktitis.
This Vigraham was found swayambu in the lands belong to Sriman Arikandam Perumal at Sozhanmahadevi Village near Thiruverambur. When the people wanted to have the Vigraha in their Village, Narasimhar in their dreams informed to place him in the Present Place in East Chinthamani facing East. Further when the construction of the Existing Cauvery Bridge was disturbed three or more times , as per Engineers dream wordings , small temple was built there.
