The Nayanaar  asked Oil for Lighting Lamps in Thiruvarur Temple in the residents of this village , which was full of “samanar (jains)” at that time. All laughed at him for his poverty and asked him to light with water if he did not have oil. Nayanaar light the lamps with the water taken from the Tank.He also did in the same way and the lights were lit with water. On seeing this Local samanars understood the  power of  the Shiva and all converted in  to  saivaism  worshipping  Shiva.

On hearing this Local Chola King made him In Charge of the Temple . During the Panguni Uthira Festival the Swamy went Veethi Ula  and after completing Veethi Ula – Being a Brahmin Nayanaar   had a bath before entering his house for removing “Theettu” of touching by all people.At that Time Shiva appeared in his mind and informed him that all the people born in and around Thiruvarur are Sivaganams and he has to treat at par.

Next day when he went to the Temple , all the devotees there were looking in Shivas alike and Nayanaar felt his mistake and  bowed before all the people there.

Shiva appeared and took the nayanmaar into himself.

DAKSHINA KOKARNEESWARAR – PULIVALAM – NEAR THIRUVARUR

Kokarnam is Near Udupi and Parasuramar worshipped here and did all parihaarams for various Doshas

After Killing all Kshtriyas in the area.

Nandini worshipped at Koarnam near Pudukkottai.

Here Yaman and Two Rakshasas worshipped God for removing Sins and give Moksha. All attained moksha after Prayers.

If the Place has Puli as prefix the temple will have been visited by Vyakrapatha Maharishi. Here that is not confirmed.

Venkateswara temple is also in the same campus and both the moolavars facing West which is uncommon.

Sri Ramar,  after Killing Ravana and Group while returning to Ayothi  there are many Sivan Temples worshipped by  Sri Ramar in South India including Temples like Rameswaram were Ramar himself made Lingam with Sands for removing various Doshas/hathis done during war.

In Some Places he Prayed the Lingams in the Temples existing in the places.

Here Ramar instructed Anjaneyar to Bring a Linga Murtham from Ganges , Kasi for doing Poojahs – Anjaneyar  by his over bhakthi brought all the materials&things for a Shivalaya. Hence they could not take with them the materials/murthys  worshipped here.

Here Bhairavamurthy is the Prathana murthy  symbolizing  Bairavar is the reincarnation of Lord Shiva in Boolokam. Bairavamurthy is getting all maryathais etc where kasi Viswanathar is in sideline only.

This place is said to be highly thanthric powerful  and the place itself  indicate that this full of yanthras and thakatus  and the effect of the prathishtais of so many yanthras  is so much that Prayers here will remove Chatru Problems, fear of death, Deceases , Obstacles in Marriages . Prayers shall be made to Bhairavar.

This Swayambu Moorthy is more than 2100 years old.

Here Thlasi maharaajan  worshipped for curing from his deceases- leprosy –Sivan appeared in his dream and ordered to construct temple here where a  cow had been daily pouring milk on its own.

He built here temple and  tank in 11^th century in 108 acres .Hence this Place is known as Koil Kulam Pannaan .

There is a pond nearby known as Puthrangankuttai. Here son of Thulasi Maharajan prayed and snanam for  getting santhanaprapthi  and Puthrangathan got child.

This place was worshipped by many maharishis including agasthiar

The temple was built by an asuran known as Banaasuran. Lingam in Baanavadivam, worshipped by

Durvasar,kasyapar,Agasthiar,Agni  and Kuberar

Here kamakshi Ambaal  as Kalyana Kamakshi  blessing us  above eighteem steps  higher.

Raja durgai amman is prasiththi  here. Kala bhairavar is powerful here particularly on Theypirai Ashtamis
